Pom Pom Bracelet

Here’s an easy, fun craft to do with your kids that is quick and interactive for them. Your child will work with colors, textures and fine motor skills while building something special that’s just for them. Spark their imagination and creativity. Whip up a pom pom bracelet today!

Supplies ~

  • Large, 1″ Pom Poms
  • Needle
  • Thread
  • Pipe Cleaners

This craft is so much fun! Thread your needle and knot the end at the eye of the needle. Cut more thread than you’ll think you’ll need for a small bracelet. Make another knot at the end of the thread.

Please keep safety in mind when working with
needles around children, and keep that
needle out of reach of tiny hands.

Have your child choose their first color of pom pom. Poke the needle through the middle of the pom pom and have your child drag it all the way to the knotted end. Repeat with 3 or 4 pom poms. Stop to check the size of the bracelet to see how many more pom poms you’ll need to add. Contnue to add more pom poms, checking between each addition.

When you’re both happy with the size of the bracelet make a knot after the last pom pom.

Lay the bracelet flat on the table. Weave a pipe cleaner between the pom poms in the bracelet. You might need two pipe cleaners. Just wrap them around one another to tie them together. This will give it more stability and make it softer on your child’s skin.

Twist the pipe cleaner ends together, loosely enough that they can slip it over their wrist but tight enough that it won’t fall off while they’re playing. Bend the points to face away from your child’s skin so they don’t get poked.

Fantastic! You guys made a bracelet together. And you made some special memories in the process. Which is the most special gift of all.
