Make Your Own Horn

This homemade horn has to be one of the simplest crafts I’ve ever done. Which is awesome! My daughter loved it so much. It will take you less than 10 minutes to put this horn together, but you can spend extra time on this craft to make it fancy.

You’ll need:

  • paper towel roll
  • wax paper circle
  • pencil (or other sharp device for poking holes)
  • rubber band

I had my daughter paint her paper towel roll with washable paints the day before we assembled her horn. It was a really fun step that made the instrument very special to her.

Cover one end of your paper towel roll with a circle of wax paper. Secure in place with a rubber band. Use a pencil or other sharp object (I used a meat thermometer) to poke a few holes in the top of the horn.

Don’t forget to demonstrate how to use the horn to your child.

That’s it! You can both decorate it with stickers, streamers, beads, pom poms…..whatever you feel makes your child’s musical instrument special to them.
